Our Mission at Lifebridge Northshore

The North Shore of Massachusetts has certainly not been immune to the homeless epidemic that has been sweeping the country. As housing costs increase, so too does the amount of individuals who don’t have a permanent place to call home.

That’s why we at Lifebridge believe that providing services to individuals who have fallen on hard times is more important now than ever.

The History of Lifebridge

Beginning in 1980 when The Crombie Street Congregational Church made it their mission to provide outreach to the homeless population, we’ve been providing services for the disadvantaged for nearly four decades.

Initially a soup kitchen that offered meals for the homeless two nights a week, it didn’t take long until lifebridge was an operation that ran seven days a week.

Today, we provide services to over 300 individuals every day, and have expanded to three locations.

Programs and Services

We certainly have come a long way from offering two meals per week.

The needs of the homeless community are not all the same. Each individual person and family requires different programs and services. This is why we offer an array of programs and support.

Amongst our programs is our Permanent Supportive Housing program, which offers single room units to individuals who are chronically homeless.

Another one of our programs is our Intensive Care Management program, which helps individuals overcome a great variety of obstacles, and achieve sustainability.

The Lifebridge Thrift Shop

The Lifebridge Thrift Shop is a great way to find affordable clothing from brands you know and trust.

From offering clothing options to keep the disadvantaged safe and warm throughout the winter, to simply having an awesome supply of clothes for anyone’s wardrobe, the thrift shop has something for everyone.

Located at 47 Canal Street, Salem, MA, swing by the thrift shop and fill up your wardrobe without breaking your budget.

At Lifebridge, we’re passionate about helping our community. Those who have fallen on hard times need a helping hand, and that’s what we’re here for.
