The Homeless Population in Massachusetts is Growing
After seeing a shocking increase in the homeless population from 2017 to 2018 (a roughly 14 percent increase, in fact), numbers have continued to rise in the last two years. The 14 percent jump from 2017 to 2018 was the largest change in a homeless population anywhere in the United States, and a sign of a growing problem.
There was roughly a one percent increase in the homeless population in Boston in 2019, which marks a less significant, but still not ideal, trend. The homeless population is growing in Massachusetts, and a fair question to ask is, “Are we doing enough about it?”
